The Symbol Trust was established in 1998 to support the development of services for children and young people with additional needs. Building upon it specialist services aimed at supporting the communication, participation and independence building in our young people the Symbol Trust is delighted to announce the establishment of our latest individualised support service where families and young people are able to access the Hop Yard services for as little or as much as they wish, all funded through the Kent Direct Payment Services.
Symbol established its riding and performing arts camps 10 years ago and since that time over 1,000 young people have joined these camps and benefitted from the specialist support of our multi-disciplinary team. More importantly, all these youngsters have had great fun and gained in confidence and independence.
The Hop Yard is our new venture led by Peter Elliott and Florentina Dalton. The Hop Yard provides community based support daytimes, evenings and weekends. We offer support from one hour per week to full time activities up to 7 days per week.
