How does it work?

The Hop Yard offers something new which is diverse, exciting, innovative and fun. We are able to offer activities for children through to adults of all ages wishing to take part in meaningful day and evening activities. The Hop Yard is a great place to spend time, learn new skills and as a possible route to open employment. We are supremely flexible and individual in our approach. Whatever you need, in whatever way works best for you, we can do.

The Hop Yard is committed to locally based services in your own back yard. We will work with you to get to know your local area and begin to see what's on offer for you near to home. The Hop Yard works out of Kent based outreach Hubs in Maidstone, Swale, Ashford, Medway and Tonbridge and Malling. The Hubs offer services on site and serve as access points to our Kent wide activity centres. If you live further afield you are still very welcome to come to the Hop Yard, get in touch and we will see how we can help.

The Hop Yard home Hub work out of two key venues south of Maidstone in Kent, Harrietsham and Hollingbourne. Our team leaders Pete and Florentina coordinate our dedicated support staff and the input of our specialist practitioners, who advise, participate and massively enhance the quality of our provision.

The Hop Yard team will work with you to identify activities you would like to do and will support you to go along and take part. This might be just you and your mate from the Hop Yard staff team or a group of friends having fun together. For example you might like to go bowling or swimming, you might like a regular theatre trip to London’s West End or perhaps a local cinema trip. Maybe just shopping and a coffee on a Saturday morning. Geography is not a barrier.
